Confidentiality and Applicant Conduct

The examination and all related materials are ABDSM’s confidential, proprietary and copyrighted intellectual property. Any disclosure of the contents of the examination is strictly prohibited.
In order to sit for the exam, all applicants must review and agree to the terms of the ABDSM Exam Confidentiality and Conduct Policy:

Examination Content

The ABDSM certification examination is comprised of 150 multiple choice questions. Applicants are allowed three hours to complete the exam. The exam tests applicants on airway anatomy and physiology, adult and pediatric sleep medicine, oral appliance therapy, alternative treatment modalities, and evaluation, treatment and follow-up care. 

Examination Administration

The examination is administered as a computer-based exam via Kryterion testing centers located around the world.
 
Be aware that testing center schedules will vary by site and may have limited availability in some locations. The testing centers are owned and operated by independent third parties. ABDSM has no control over and is not responsible for the availability of testing centers nor for conditions at the particular testing center selected by the applicant.

Applicants with Disabilities

Applicants who request accommodations due to a disability must advise the ABDSM in writing no later than January 1, 2020. The ABDSM supports the intent of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The ABDSM’s procedures for applicants with disabilities are found in the ABDSM Guidelines.
